Youth Ministries

We have grown to realize the survival of our Ukrainian Orthodox Church is dependent upon its youth. The parents and elders understand the importance of encouraging our youth to attend church regularly and participate in our youth activities. Our children are essential to the continuance of both our heritage and culture.

Our goal at St. Mary's is to teach and encourage our youth the importance of Church and the growth of their spiritual life. To help us achieve our goal, we encourage our youth to participate in church functions, such as Youth Sundays, the Junior UOL, and various celebrations associated with your feast days.

Our Sunday School teachers have the following activities planned for our children:

• Youth Sundays - there are four youth programs scheduled during the school year.
• All students are encouraged to participate during Youth Sunday.
• As part of our St. Nicholas celebration this year.  The Sunday School (with the help of their mothers) baked cookies and decorated coffee cans to be distributed to the homeless at the City Mission Soup Kitchen in Chester, PA.  The children were then asked to write a letter to St. Nicholas describing their experience. Many of the letters were published in the Church Bulletin for all to read.
